Moon and Mars optically visible very close to each other in the evening sky.
The distance between Mars and Earth is growing now, but Mars can still be visible as a nice bright object on the night sky.
In positional astronomy, two astronomical objects are said to be in opposition when they are on opposite sides of the celestial sphere, as observed from the Earth. A planet is said to be “in opposition” when it is in opposition to the Sun.

The evening sky right after the sunset was quite clear tonight. Hovewer it is still pretty cold outside, I have tried to take some astro photos.
Photo of the planets Venus and Mars just right after the sunset. Photo was taken without tripod, so it is not very sharp. But for “quick” amateur astronomy it is OK, I think.
For the last couple of days I have been just a little bit busy to do some serious amateur astronomy observation with my telescope. However I have take these two photos of planets Mars and Venus just with a single camera.
