Astrophoto with compact camera

Some photos of the night sky and planets Mars and Jupiter.

I do not use a mirror camera, because I do not have one. I used to use a custom astro-cam connected to the telescope, but to be honest, I more like the small digi cam. Also not everyone on this planet has the opportunity to buy a mirror camera (DSLR), so why not to help others with some inspiration.

The first photo – part of the Milky Way.

The next photo is showing us planet Mars. I have not used any filter.

Photo above – planet Jupiter with its moons. Jupiter is very interesting planet for an observation. Every day you can draw the position of the Jupiter’s moons and you will notice how they are moving.

The three previous photos (above) is the view on the southern part of the sky. You can see Pleiades M45, also known as the Seven Sisters and Messier 45, are an open star cluster containing middle aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. The distance from the Earth is 444.2 light years.

I am looking for the Winter night sky. Especially for Orion and planets.

My personal experience is that far more objects are visible when compared to summer sky.

Important thing is – do not forget to wear a warm clothes.

Good luck!
