MAVEN orbit insertion – watching live with students

It was already a night in Europe, but we all met in the Department of Avionics just for one reason. To watch the live event of the MAVEN orbit insertion.

Time was ticking, it was 02:30 a.m. and we just arrived at the faculty. Students came as well, so the program began. Connected to a live stream provided by NASA, we enjoyed an excellent maneuver and successful insertion of the MAVEN probe into its orbit around Mars.

At the beginning of the program, I presented some information about the mission of MAVEN.

For the event, I prepared also a unique website dedicated to this event and presented it on the main web server of the faculty. The archived website can be found here.
